The Best High Schools In Western Montana
High school is an extremely divisive time in one's life. Some hate the teenage years and some love the weird years because they were not taking high school seriously instead having fun and partying every weekend. The ladder may or may not have been me.
High school is a place of learning even if some kids like yours truly didn't understand that. That's why websites like Great Schools attempt to quantify "how effectively each school serves its students," by breaking down numbers and analyzing information. The site ranks elementary, middle and high schools nationwide based on several categories. I magnified the study to Western Montana to view how Great Schools views Western Montana. Surprisingly, Missoula doesn't feature a high school in the top 5, but several nearby are featured.
I am typically weary of national publications' analysis of local high schools, but here's what Great Schools developed for their top 5.
5) Alberton High School (8/10)
Smaller than the Missoula public high schools, Alberton checks in number 5. Alberton's average ACT score registers in the middle with an average score of 20. As a state, Montana averages 19.
4) Corvallis High School (8/10)
Corvallis scores higher in reviews. Parents or students gave Alberton a lower score, while Corvallis had a 4.5/5 score on reviews.
3) Granite High School (9/10)
P-Burg represent.
2) Frenchtown High School (9/10)
Frenchtown is the only high school in the top 5 with over 100 students.
1) St. Regis High School (10/10)
St. Regis scored higher in 4-year high school graduation rate, average ACT score and AP course participation.
Again, I take these studies with a grain of salt because more likely than not the study conductors haven't had any experience with these schools. So I'm asking you, the locals, if you agree with this list. Which school should be removed? Is there a school that should be added?
