We are a radio company, and what’s that running joke about "a face for radio??"

Well, that doesn’t apply here because now, we feel more beautiful thanks to the local artist- Rilie Tanè. We ran an article about this talented lady in September of 2022. She painted the giant, bison mural on the north side of Jake’s Restaurant in downtown Billings. It’s hard to miss that masterpiece. Just try googling her name, the exposure she's gotten is endless because her work is really beautiful.

I hit Rilie up on Instagram asking her if she’d be willing to paint our very dingy conference room and make it shiny for the new year.

She said yes! The team wanted Montana-themed nature, and a calming vibe to keep us sane while at work. It’s all about creating a space that brings calming energy and also inspiring. That’s exactly what she painted for us. Here is a photo of the progression during the week Rilie painted.

This mural project for TSM took Rilie about 5 days total.

She and her daughter met me at the Double Tree Hotel during holiday break and we let her creativity run wild. The turnout is quite wonderful and really adds a beautiful touch to our offices. See below.

Rilie has been painting for pretty much her entire life.

She was born and raised in Billings and continues to teach art class at Elysian Elementary. She doesn’t just draw and paint. She does the fantastic wood burning and also hats. I have commissioned her to do my hat in February which I’m also very excited for.

Supporting local artists is one of my favorite things to do.

Choosing to be an artist for a career can be considered a risky move. Starving artists are everywhere, but it looks like Rilie’s hard work and persistence is paying off. She’s booked all summer doing murals all over the state of Montana.  If you'd like a commissioned piece from Rilie, email her at rilietaneart@gmail.com.

Thank you again Rilie Tanè for making our lives much more beautiful at Townsquare Media Billings!
