Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks is asking anglers to voluntarily kill smallmouth bass in the upper Yellowstone River until an emergency rule can be implemented.
"We are currently at 14 inches in the bay and between 10-13 inches on the main lake. Pressure ridges are still posing a problem with travel across the main lake. Hopefully those will heal up shortly and allow good access all over."
The Governor's Office, MT FW&P, and Northwestern Energy are closely monitoring the situation and working to fix the malfunction. Meanwhile, volunteers are stepping up to help save fish.
Imagine tracking down some of your favorite artists, breweries, distilleries, and eateries in Montana- and then enjoying them all in one shot. That's exactly what is taking place in Bozeman once again this year.
