As an Iraq and Afghan veteran I felt right at home the moment I walked in the doors of the new Black Rifle Coffee Company location in Kalispell, Montana. I believe this is the first retail location for BRCC in Montana.

When you step up to the counter to pay for your coffee they ask you if you're a veteran, military, or first responder. If so, you get a discount. It's nice they ask you since many veterans don't like to ask if there's a discount, but are definitely glad to get one.

I first popped in early Thursday morning. We did a LIVE radio show from the Valley Bank of Kalispell down the street while I was in town for the Montana Chamber of Commerce Governor's Cup Golf Tournament. I took advantage of the opportunity to finally check out the Black Rifle in Kalispell.

Popping in again later in the day and it was cool to see the blend of customers enjoying the sun on the back patio area or the folks hanging out inside by the fireplace. You could definitely tell there was a mixture of older veterans, younger veterans, every day folks, and tourists alike.

As luck would have it, one of our radio callers named "Coach John" brought me a Black Rifle t-shirt during the show earlier in the day.

The Daily Inter Lake reported on the shop's grand opening back in February:

Retired Navy SEAL and world-record breaking skydiver Andy Stumpf has teamed up with Denver Maddux to put a Montana spin on the traditional Black Rifle Coffee Company.

They also like to feature local businesses inside the Black Rifle in Kalispell. One Montana company whose products are featured prominently is the Montana Knife Company.
