It’s Official: Montana’s Flint Rasmussen in Rodeo Hall of Fame
It's official...the GOAT...Montana's own Flint Rasmussen is officially in the Rodeo Hall of Fame.
According to PBR.com, Rasmussen was inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as a member of its class of 2024 this past weekend.
Here's part of what he told PBR.com prior to the big day:
Flint Rasmussen: “I’ve always felt like I was younger than what I am, and I feel like I’m not old enough! [laughs] I mean, that’s kind of the lighthearted answer. But when you’re in a career – I think athletes would say this too – you never think, ‘Yeah, I’m going to be in a hall of fame someday...everybody uses the words ‘honored,’ ‘humbled,’ and you hear them over and over. And then, when it really happens, all of that makes sense. I’m getting something that legends have done the same, and I guess I just never quite put myself there."
The legendary rodeo entertainer from Choteau, Montana- Flint Rasmussen- had his last ride inside the arena at the PBR in Billings, Montana back in April of 2023. I got a chance to see the Pro Bull Riders event from the dirt right next to the arena that Saturday night.
As someone who has gotten to see Flint Rasmussen from the stands over the years, you can hear the jokes and you can see the moves. But what you can see down in the dirt is that Flint Rasmussen is a ringleader of the pro bull riding event. One second he's trash talking with the bull riders, the next second he's congratulating them on a powerful 8 second ride. Then he's back to entertaining the thousands of fans in the crowd.
Here's more from what I wrote back in April of 2023.
