YellowBall Giving One Lucky Yellowstone County Veteran a Brand-New Roof

It’s no secret that Montana has one of the highest veteran populations in the country, both in sheer numbers and per capita. Many of these men and women served our country proudly, but when they returned home, life wasn’t always easy. Roof repairs, for example, can be an expensive, urgent need, and one that’s tough to afford on a fixed income.

That’s where YellowBall, a Montana-based roofing and solar company, is stepping up in a big way. They’ve just launched their “Nominate a Veteran” campaign in the Billings area, giving locals the chance to submit the name of a deserving veteran who could use a brand-new roof — completely free of charge.

Nominations are open now through August 24.

The winner will be announced during a special ceremony at their home on September 4, when the YellowBall crew, along with partners Owens Corning and ABC Supply Co., will roll up to start tearing off shingles and laying down a fresh new roof.

To be eligible, nominees must live in Yellowstone County, be a veteran from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces or National Guard, and have a roof in poor condition without the means or insurance to replace it.

In a press release, YellowBall founder and CEO Justice Graham says this campaign is about giving back to the folks who gave so much. “If we’re going to give back to the community, a veteran is the first person that comes to my mind,” Graham said.

Earlier this summer, YellowBall surprised a veteran in Belgrade with a free roof, and now it’s Billings’ turn.

If you know a local veteran who could use this life-changing gift, get that nomination in today.

Did Anyone Watch These TV Shows in the 1980s and 1990s?

While you might think “watching while distracted” is a modern habit, even back in the day the TV was just… there, humming along while you did other things. These were the shows that weren’t exactly “must-see TV,” more like “might-see TV” — part of the culture, but you had to wonder: who was actually watching?
