Montana Highway Patrol Warns of Phone Scam in State

It is as if the smarter our technology becomes, perhaps our common sense seems to diminish just a touch.  I mean, if it is on the web, it has to be true, right?

But, in all seriousness, getting scammed by a criminal isn't fun, and those crafty buggers continue to come up with new ways to entice someone to give out personal information for nefarious reasons.

Montana Highway Patrol Has No Affiliation with This Group

A recent social media post through the Montana Highway Patrol warns residents of the state that a new scam has been noticed involving a request for donations.  The new scam is "targeting Montanans with robocalls using Montana phone numbers and claiming to be from the "Police Officers Support Political PAC."

The MHP stated in their release that:

As far as we know, this "PAC" is not affiliated with a Montana law enforcement organization. - Montana Highway Patrol

Have you received one of these robocalls?  The MHP encourages residents to report them as soon as possible with the Montana Department of Justice Office of Consumer Protection.
