Every so often, I start looking at homes with wide eyes... imagining what I could do if I owned my own home in Montana... and then reality sets back in, with the prices we are seeing these days.

Speaking of Price...

On TikTok, this $1.1 MILLION home in Whitefish, Montana is going viral suddenly. Mainly due to everyone asking "Who would pay $1.1 MILLION for a home in Whitefish, Montana?" Let's take a look at this house, and see what our money gets us!

@johnbmortgage This is legit ‍♂️ $1.1 mil for something that looks like it's one door kick-in from being condemned. I know prices are high rn but WTF is happening in Whitefish, Montana that this is the real estate market?? Am I missing something extraordinary?? I hear it's because of the Californians... #whitefishmontana #milliondollarlisting #luxuryrealestate #realestate #ridiculous #california #johnbandme ♬ original sound - John Birke Mortgage Hacker

Now, according to the listing, your future home in Whitefish for $1.1 MILLION, comes with views of Riverside Park, which has the Whitefish River weaving through it. (Though let it be noted, that Riverside Park connects to River Trail Park & Baker Park, according to Google Maps, so you have to go through two separate parks to get to Riverside Park.)

This home covers two lots, allowing for opportunities in the future. The listing suggests redevelopment into a duplex or turned into a business.

So, why is it viral?

It sure isn't the home itself! Looking through the provided photos from the realtor, I can see why they suggest just... doing something else.

The outside is quite dated, and overall, the home is quite small for the lot it sits on.

As you can see from above, lots of room for future opportunities in Whitefish.

Even looking at the layout of this older home, it isn't great. Built in 1955, this home is showing its age. Yes, that unfinished basement is a goldmine to some, but for this home... I doubt it will ever be finished. 75+ years hasn't seen it happen.
