At Monday night’s Missoula City Council meeting, Mayor John Engen revealed via ZOOM that he recently tested positive for COVID 19.

Engen said he is resting at home, but feels ‘like I’ve been hit by a truck’.

He told the council and those listening on line that he recently cared for his mother who had COVID and may have contracted the virus at that time.

He urged the council and the public to take all the necessary precautions to keep from contracting the virus, including wearing a mask, practicing social distancing and washing hands often.

Engen is conducting business as mayor remotely from his home.
