One judge stood for freedom during COVID-19. The other judge is an environmental extremist whose views were even rejected by the left-wing majority on the Montana Supreme Court. They're both running for a seat on the Montana Supreme Court.

We're talking about Judge Dan Wilson and Amy Eddy. Wilson stood for freedom, while Amy Eddy went to bat for environmental extremists. She also donated to Hillary Clinton and several radical environmental groups- yet now has the audacity to claim that she is "nonpartisan."

Keep that in mind as you read this important OpEd by former State Senate Majority Leader Jeff Essmann (R-Billings) in the Billings Gazette.

Say no to an activist Supreme Court | Jeff Essmann

In the piece, Essmann points out the founders intent behind the right to a clean and healthful environment in the state's Constitution. "The delegates rightfully decided that the right to a clean and healthful environment belongs to the people and not to the courts or their favored experts. Only the peoples’ elected lawmakers are permitted to make laws deciding what the right to a clean and healthful environment means and who can enforce it," Essmann wrote.

Amy Eddy has advocated for a much more radical approach to that provision, as State Rep. Kerri Seekins-Crowe (R-Billings) wrote in several area newspapers back in August.

"Activist Amy Eddy is an environmental extremist with legal views so far to the left that they were even rejected by our Montana Supreme Court. Now she wants a seat on that court, and if she succeeds, Montana’s Constitution and way of life will be in danger."

Here's the audio as Judge Wilson went in depth on the clean and healthful environment provision in our state's Constitution back in August:
