NFR Watch Party and Calcutta Coming Up in Montana

If you're back home in Montana missing out on everything down at the NFR and Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas, here's a chance for you to feel like you're part of the action.

The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame is putting on a National Finals Rodeo watch party and calcutta Saturday, December 14th. The event will also be a chance to raise money for high school rodeo scholarships given out all across the state.

Elyssa Leininger tells us the event will be at the Billings Elks Lodge downtown on Montana Avenue. They'll auction off 15 randomly-drawn teams of rodeo contestants, with each team containing one contestant from each event. Elyssa tells us it is a free and family friendly event with door prizes given out throughout the evening, as well.

Elyssa Leininger: "The doors open at 5pm for bidder registration, the auction will start at 6pm, and the rodeo will be live streamed at 6:45. We will pay out the bidders for the top four placing teams and checks will be distributed immediately after the rodeo. 50% of the proceeds will go toward scholarships, and the other 50% will be paid out to the winners."

I finally got to attend the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame Banquet earlier this year in Billings. I ran into several of the same folks a few years ago during the World of Rodeo Reunion down in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo. It was also cool to see the Combat Cowboys Honor Guard in action for the first time.
