After hearing President Biden’s ‘American Families Plan’ on Wednesday evening, Montana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen told KGVO News that she have given the plan a thumbs down rating when it comes to education.

Earlier in the day, Gianforte and Arntzen were in Great Falls, where the governor signed the TEACH Act into law. The TEACH Act, or Tomorrow’s Educators Are Coming Home Act, provides $2.5 million in incentives to improve starting teacher pay.

Enrollment in Montana's K-8 public schools is down nearly 4% this Fall, according to numbers released by the state's Superintendent of Public Instruction. Homeschool numbers, meanwhile, are up by almost 63%.

The Montana State Office of Public Instruction announced recently that Governor Bullock has released funds for schools, both for public schools and some funding for private schools, as well.
