The Three Forks Rodeo scheduled for July 17 & 18 has been postponed because of COVID-19. The new dates are August 28 & 29, 2020. The Three Forks City Council decided to move the event, hoping that the state & county will have moved into Phase 3 Guidelines outlined for COVID-19, which lifts substantial restrictions for gatherings.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Rodeo Arena Board of Advisors said,

"the Council decided it was in the best interest of the community to postpone the Annual Rodeo to the August dates at this time.  Council members felt the uncertainty of when the State might transition to Phase 3 was a barrier to proper planning for the businesses most affected by the ancillary events associated with the Rodeo and postponing now will provide the entire community time to plan.

Currently, the state of Montana and Gallatin County are under Phase 2 Guidelines, which limit large gatherings to 50 people. Phase 3 Guidelines do not have a restriction on the number of people who can gather at one time for an event.

This year's rodeo was to be the debut of new bleachers surrounding the rodeo arena. Let's hope the cowboys & cowgirls will be able to ride in August. We'll keep you posted!
