This has the potential for athletes in college to make some extra money while playing sports for their college.

If you didn't hear, the NCAA Board of Governors announced that starting today, they have suspended their name, image, and likeness guidelines for the interim until they can come up with something permanent. This means that college athletes can use their name, image, and likeness to benefit while playing collegiate sports.

What this means is that any Montana State Bobcat can start using their name, image, and likeness to make money while in college without any consequences. The best part is that Montana State wants to help the athletes too. Here's a statement from MSU Athletics.

MSU Athletics is prepared to educate and provide resources to support Bobcat student-athletes with this initiative. We are finalizing our NIL policy and creating platforms to assist with education, marketing and monitoring practices. It is and always has been our philosophy to develop champions in the classroom, competition and life and our staff and coaches are prepared to continue that mindset.

As you can see MSU Athletics wants to help their athletes in every aspect of this new future and what are their possibilities. Many student-athletes are already making moves and even companies are getting reaching out and want to help including Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports, here's a video he posted on TikTok.

These new rules are going to be huge for Montana State athletes from football to basketball to volleyball. I can't wait to see some of the sponsorships for Bobcat athletes that are to come. Maybe we will have a Barstool Athlete right here in Bozeman.
