The Biden Administration took steps to try and kill coal and Colstrip. The Trump Administration is backing American energy and Colstrip. Same with the oil and gas industry.

Montana's US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) is praising President Trump for signing an executive order that the senator says will keep the lights on in Montana and the power plant up and running in Colstrip.

Senator Daines: “With this executive order, President Trump delivered on a hallmark promise: to protect and unleash Made-In-America energy. The Colstrip Power Plant keeps the lights on for Montanans and provides jobs and revenue for the state. It’s refreshing to finally have an administration that puts the needs of our communities first, rather than pandering to woke environmentalists. I look forward to working with President Trump and his administration on more ways to support Montana energy."

Elsewhere on the energy front, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT) is also praising an announcement that the Trump Administration Department of the Interior (DOI) will no longer require the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to prepare an environmental impact statement for approximately 3,224 oil and gas leases in seven Western states.

Gov. Gianforte: "At a time when Montanans and Americans are battling an energy affordability crisis, President Trump and Secretary Burgum are taking action to unleash American energy, create jobs, and lower costs. Montana is rich with natural resources. I welcome the Department’s actions to responsibly develop energy to meet the needs of consumers while also prioritizing our national security.”
