Celebrate an Incredible Montana Photographer at New Exhibit

Larry Mayer is an incredible photographer here in Montana. He's been with The Billings Gazette for over 40 years. He's gotten a front row seat (or an aerial seat) for history in the making. It was his photo of the China Spy Balloon that really got him some national attention, though.

Starting July 7th at the Western Heritage Center in Billings there will be a special exhibit featuring Larry Mayer's work from over the years. It will definitely be something worth checking out. Not only is Larry a photographer, he's also a pilot who has been able to combine the two for some stunning images.

In the days and weeks leading up to the exhibit, Larry has been sharing a few of his photos that will be featured at the exhibit. Some of the photos I shared below include:  St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Beartooth Mountains, Eastern Montana sunrise 1989,  Lightning and the Billings skyline 1982, the Billings Beach in 1983, Original slide of Alberta Bair and the theater she funded in 1987, A backfire is set to save the town of Custer in 2006, Aerial view of Pompeys Pillar National Monument, and a photo of Grand Prismatic Spring and a Piper Super Cub Yellowstone National Park.
