Did They “Catch a Predator” in Laurel? Ystone Co Sheriff Responds
Did they catch a predator in Laurel, Montana? We reached out to the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office to confirm. Here's what we know right now.
I started getting messages from listeners and social media followers on Friday and Saturday asking if I had seen this report where they allegedly caught a child predator in Laurel, Montana.
On February 14th, Steve (@pandemoniumMT on X) sent this message:
"Right here in Montana, folks. Yellowstone county, so that's Billings. @aaronflint, you hear about this yet? This man should be formally arrested and immediately removed from his federal employment."
The tweet included a video by Alex Rosen (@IfightForKids on X). In the video/tweet he says that they just busted a federal employee "going after a 13-year-old. He is the head of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (@OSHA_DOL) in 5 states."
I am withholding the name used in the tweet until/unless formal charges have been filed and/or an arrest has been made. I did shoot a note to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder which included this Facebook post, and asked him if an arrest had been made.
Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder says he cannot discuss the details, "but Deputies did respond and took a report from the people who made this complaint. We conducted our own investigation, and that investigation will be presented to the County Attorney this week. No arrests have been made at this point."
I also sent a note to the media contacts with OSHA to confirm one way or another.
