Thanks to our loyal Cat Country 102.9 Facebook fans for bringing this to my attention! We reached out to BPD today, and they were happy to provide information, as they had difficulties last week with technology preventing this release of information. We've contacted Stockman Bank, who has not called back with more details.

On Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 around 3:33 PM, Billings Police responded to the Downtown Stockman Bank at 402 North Broadway.

The suspect, later identified as Elmore Brady, 67, entered Stockman Bank and made contact with an employee demanding money. Brady threatened he had a weapon, and would harm the employee.

Brady then fled the bank... via a unique option... a Billings MET Transit bus. Certainly a unique decision on a getaway vehicle for a robbery.

MET Transit was alerted to the incident and contacted BPD Dispatch to inform them they had the suspect on the bus.

Brady attempted to flee the MET Transit bus but was apprehended by responding officers shortly after. BPD recovered the money from the bank, an undisclosed amount, along with a knife at the time of the arrest.

Elmore Brady was arrested and remains in the custody of Yellowstone County Detention Facility on the charges of robbery, assault with a weapon, and a probation violation.
