Eureka Man’s Mission to Fly that Flag High in Montana
I remember driving home at night as a kid on the Hi Line. Man did you love finally seeing those "city" lights of the next town, and especially your own town, after a long drive home following a wrestling tournament or something.
There's something about seeing those lights that brightens you up...same thing when you see a gigantic American flag flying over town.
We got a nice surprise phone call from Nathan Duram in Fort Benton Monday morning. He's from Eureka and started a new group called "Flying Freedom Forward." His mission is to get gigantic American flags flying high over towns all across Montana. You can see photographs above showing some of the flags he's already featuring.
In fact, tonight in Fort Benton he tells us there will be a city council meeting where he is hoping folks can join him.
If you live in Ft Benton I’d love to have your support at the meeting tonight. The last meeting there were 4 people that were opposed to the big flag in town and so if you’re want to help me raise a giant flag in Ft Benton come out and tell the council your thoughts.
Nathan says he believes this will be a great way to unite people.
I hope I can get you enough info to help spread the word about my mission in Montana. We’ve become so divided and insulated from even talking to our neighbors, that I wanted to do something that put me in a position to see the faces of every person in Montana, so that real conversations could be had without the internet getting in the way.
Check out the "Flying Freedom Forward" Facebook page for Nathan's contact info and to find out how you could raise a giant flag over your town.
By the way, when Nathan told us about how his flag was used at a dinner in Kalispell a while back- I knew exactly which event he was talking about. That flag was awesome. Here it is via Instagram:
