Whenever I see a fake news report, especially from the Associated Press, I always think of that great Elton John song, "I guess that's why they call it the blues." Except, the line running through my head is, "I guess that's why they call it FAKE NEWS."

I mentioned a Daily Wire report on the radio Wednesday morning that said nearly half of the students at the commencement ceremony at Colorado College (CC) turned their backs on Liz Cheney- the former member of Congress from Wyoming- during her commencement speech. Wow.  I had always thought of CC as being the downtown Colorado Springs, granola, hippie, rich kid college (by and large)...and they turned their backs on Liz Cheney?

The Daily Wire attributed their report to The Cowboy State Daily:

About half of Colorado College’s graduating class turned their chairs away from former Wyoming congresswoman Liz Cheney, a 1988 graduate of CC, during her commencement speech to the Class of 2023 on Sunday.

After I shared the Cowboy State Daily report noting that nearly half the students turned their backs on Cheney, I got an e-mail from Gail in the Billings area. That's funny, the article in the Billings Gazette didn't mention that.

So I had to go check it out. Yeah, you read the glowing report from the Associated Press that got picked up by the Gazette and they make it sound like most of the students were thrilled by Cheney's presence and speech. I guess that's why they call it fake news.
