Shocking Montana Fire Under Suspicion of Arson

That headline may surprise you, but it’s true.

A recent fire in Montana is under suspicion of arson after human remains were found in the debris.

Pinnacle Peak Storage Fire Details

On September 17th in Anaconda, MT, a fire broke out at the Pinnacle Peak Storage in the early afternoon.

Located at 11791 Montana Highway One West, this storage facility held people's campers, boats, trailers, and other large equipment.

According to KRTV, West Valley Fire Department, Anaconda Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement, Anaconda Fire Department, Opportunity Fire Department, Georgetown Lake Fire Department, and Montana DNRC all helped put out the fire, but what happened in the following days is where the story really gets weird.

Missing Person Linked To Fire?

Two days after the fire, there was a missing person report filed with law enforcement for someone last seen in the Anaconda area.

That same missing person matched the person police officers saw in surveillance video near the storage facility before the fire broke out; they were then NOT seen leaving the crime scene once the fire was reported.

Human Remains Sent For Identification

Police made the shocking discovery of human remains during heavy machinery use to clear out the rubble from the fire.

The body has since been sent to the Montana State Crime Lab in hope of identifying the body.
