BREAKING: Billings PD, Bomb, and SWAT on Hwy 312. Traffic Impacted

UPDATE 10/11. A warrant was successfully served and five people from the residence were detained. 

The Billings Police Department has responded to an active situation on the 2900 block of Highway 312, on the northeast side of Billings Heights. At around 3 pm Tuesday the BPD released minimal details on their Facebook account. The post reads,

23-70756 Multi-agency operation. At approximately 3:00 pm Officers with BPD and YSCO SWAT and BPD bomb squad initiated an investigation in the 2900 block of Highway 312. While this investigation is ongoing Hwy 312 will be closed from Main Street to Independent Ln.

For those in the area, please note that Highway 312 is closed from Main Street to Independent Lane. BPD recommends travelers take Mary Street to Bitterroot or Hwy 87 to Independent Lane to bypass the closure.
