In case you missed it, a great Montanan was just confirmed by the US Senate to serve as one of President Trump's nominees tackling crime here in the state. This also gives us hope that we will soon see a couple judicial nominations get across the finish line to clean up the federal bench here in the state as well.

Last week, I caught up with US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) after the Turning Point USA event at Montana State University in Bozeman. He was back in Washington, DC pushing President Trump's nominees across the finish line.

Senator Daines: "We were able, with one vote, bundle 107 of President Trump's nominees for approval. If you recall, Schumer and the Democrats have had unprecedented obstruction against these nominees since President Trump was elected. We've never seen such a lack of cooperation for nominations in the history of the US Senate, it was an all time low. They were blocking these nominations, slowing us down. President Trump has every right to have his nominations certainly confirmed, and that's exactly what we did."

The week prior the Republican controlled Senate got a one block package of 48 presidential nominees across the finish line. Last week they got another 107, and it included Kurt Alme as US Attorney for Montana.

Senator Daines: "He's a tremendous gift to Montana. He was our US attorney during Trump 45 and he's come back to do it again here in Trump 47. He'll do a wonderful job really, going tough on crime, going after the drugs in Montana. A real gift here to our state."
