Montana Congressional Candidate Was Boots on Ground in Ukraine
Air Force veteran and Montana Congressional candidate Troy Downing (R-MT02) was boots on ground in Ukraine in recent days.
Earlier this week I spotted the news from the Ukrainian President's official website that a Congressional delegation had visited the nation currently at war with Russia.
Will Boone, a spokesperson for Downing, says State Auditor Troy Downing is now back in Montana.
Will Boone: "As a candidate for Congress, Commissioner Downing believes in seeing firsthand how U.S. aid in Ukraine is being used since Congress passed the supplemental bill. If given the honor of being elected to represent Montana's 2nd congressional district, constituents can count on Commissioner Downing to not just read reports but actually see what our dollars are being spent on."
According to President Zelensky's website, "The meeting was attended by Members of the House of Representatives Jim Costa, Jimmy Panetta, Salud Carbajal (Democratic Party) and Don Bacon (Republican Party), Republican Senator from Ohio (2011-2023) Rob Portman, and Republican candidate for Congress in the 2024 elections Troy Downing."
During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of further U.S. security and defense assistance. The priority is to obtain additional air defense systems, missiles for them and permission to use long-range weapons against Russian military targets.
I'm glad Downing is getting the facts for himself. We are spending billions of American taxpayer dollars on a war that never would have started if Donald J. Trump were still the President of the United States (in my opinion).
I fully believe that if we had a president and a United States Senate operating from a position of strength, we wouldn't have seen the loss of so many innocent Ukrainian lives. Plus, we would have an American energy policy that would unleash American energy instead of bankrolling Russia's war.
President Trump pledged to end the war during the recent debate with Vice President Kamala Harris where she basically sounded like she would fund the war in perpetuity.
