I saw a great headline from Fox News the other day: National Sheriffs' Association slams state of policing under Biden, throws full support behind Patel for FBI

I figured, why not get a take from one of our great Montana Sheriffs?

Wednesday morning we caught up with Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter. He was glad to see the National Sheriffs' Association speak out in support of Patel, and for calling out the Biden Administration.

More on that later, but since Sheriff Slaughter was with me on the show I also wanted to get his take on another report by the liberal outfit "The New Yorker." They had a story quoting Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke (R-MT01) with this headline: How Sheriffs Might Power Trump’s Deportation Machine

That turned into Sheriff Slaughter sharing a crazy story about how the Biden Administration has been deliberately undermining American sheriffs who have been working to keep crime committing illegal aliens behind bars.

Sheriff Slaughter: "I had one of the biggest federal holding facilities in the state of Montana. The Cascade County Jail holds the most pre trial federal inmates in all of the state. We were doing immigration holds, but Congress created this ODO (Office of Detention Oversight) who came in and nitpicked stuff like- we weren't tracking the levels of soap in the soap dispensers. Just terrible, just terrible. And I could tell right away, halfway through the audit, I said, You're not here to honestly audit us. You're here to get us to quit taking these offenders. And they wouldn't really answer the question."

As he was talking with the feds, Sheriff Slaughter also made this prediction:

Sheriff Slaughter: "You're gonna do this. And Biden is going to get on the media, and he's gonna say, 'Well, I'm trying to lock up illegals, but the sheriffs won't accept it. And sure enough, like two weeks later, that was a statement he made. And it's just this silly game that they're playing..."

Sheriff Slaughter says he has raised the issue with Senator Daines and is encouraging President Trump to end this federal ODO which is getting in the way of keeping illegal aliens behind bars.

Here's the full audio of our chat with Sheriff Slaughter where he talks about his support for Kash Patel and much more.
