Foreigners pay more, Americans pay less. You're gonna LOVE this new national parks pass. Well, unless you really hate Trump.

An X post by the Trump War Room just caught my eye: "The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands pass will cost just $80 for Americans and $250 for foreigners. This is AMERICA FIRST in action."

I remember back when Montana Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) and Congressman Ryan Zinke, a former Trump Interior Secretary (R-MT01), were talking about this idea last Summer. I thought it was brilliant. Foreigners come to our national parks like Yellowstone by the busload. Correction. Several busloads. They will not mind paying more. Montanans have been taxed enough.

Here's a quote from Congressman Zinke that Denny Bedard shared in a story last summer: “Americans already pay for parks in our tax dollars as well as at the gates. It’s unfair to American taxpayers to foot the bill for millions of foreign visitors. Almost every other country charges foreign visitors more, it’s common sense.”

It's also worth noting that Sheehy and Zinke are both Navy SEAL veterans. As an Iraq/Afghan veteran myself, I'm grateful that we as veterans enjoy these annual passes for our national parks. Everyday Americans shouldn't have to pay the same amount as people coming here from other countries.

Not everyone is happy with the new passes though, as this article out of San Francisco points out- the radical environmental groups are TICKED that President Trump's face is on some of the passes.

Here is the official press release from the Department of Interior announcing the new passes. You can also watch the full remarks from Interior Secretary Doug Burgum below.

Here's another interesting sidenote about the new annual pass updates. They're gonna have digital passes available. And what about this one for motorcycle riders? "In addition, the National Park Service is expanding affordability and access for motorcycle riders. All America the Beautiful passes will now cover two motorcycles per pass, making national park adventures more accessible for riders and families who travel on two wheels."
