Poll Question: Who Do You Think Won Last Night’s Presidential Debate?
On Tuesday night, the top two presidential candidates met in Cleveland, Ohio. It was the first of three moderated debates between President Donald Trump and former Obama Vice-President Joe Biden.
We want to know who you think won last night's debate. And if you didn't watch, we want to know that, too. Please answer our poll question below:
The debate was an interruption-fest from both candidates, and moderator Chris Wallace from Fox TV had a difficult time keeping order. We won't know until later today how many people tuned in, but going in, many believed it would be the most-watched presidential debate in the history of televised debates.
In the world of COVID-19, the debate was conducted under rules never seen before at a presidential debate.
For one, the audience consisted of only family and close operatives of the candidate because of COVID-19. It was estimated that there were less than 80 people inside the auditorium at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Something else we saw last night, well, actually, didn't see, was the traditional pre-date handshake. Because of COVID-19, neither candidate shook hands, and their podiums were spaced further apart than a normal two-person debate.
Chris Wallace from Fox News moderated the debate asking both candidates questions in the following areas:
- Their individual records
- The Supreme Court and the new nominee Amy Coney Barrett
- COVID-19 and our current pandemic
- The Economy
- Race and Violence in our cities
- The Integrity of the Election
There are two more presidential debates scheduled between now and the election on November 3, 2020. After last night's performances by both candidates, that may be two too many.
