Pro skater, wildly successful businessman, and promotional speaker Tony Hawk was in Billings this week. The 58-year-old skateboard pioneer was the keynote speaker at the annual Billings Chamber Breakfast at MetraPark on Thursday morning (4/7). I wasn't able to attend the event, but I'm sure whatever he spoke about was well-received.

Hawk was trending near the top on Twitter today after he shared an incident that occurred on a Billings hotel elevator, and it's pretty funny. It seems that not everyone recognizes the skateboarding icon.

Ok, that seems fairly run-of-the-mill, right? Some lame dad-type guy attempts to make a Tony Hawk identity joke. His wife is embarrassed, they all laugh uncomfortably and that's it, right? NOPE. The next post in Tony's thread is the best part.

"You do look like him!"

Tony Hawk has been in literally dozens of film and tv productions. Many of his early roles were parts with titles like "skater #2", but he's been in tons of movies as either a stunt double, actor or small-bit cameo appearances. His likeness has been seen on millions of copies of his popular skateboarding video games.

Would you have recognized Hawk if you bumped into him in Montana?

It's easy to get a chuckle out of the individual who didn't recognize Hawk on the elevator, but in his defense, I'm not 100% sure I would have either. Especially if you're a random traveler spending a night at a hotel in Billings and have no idea the skateboarding legend is in town for a speaking engagement. Tony Hawk was obviously the last thing on that guy's mind.
