Why are we sending billions of dollars to fund the Taliban in Afghanistan? Montana's newly elected Senator and Navy SEAL veteran Tim Sheehy (R-MT) has a bill to stop it.

Sheehy is a sponsor of the "No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act" to prevent funding for groups like the Taliban.

Sen. Sheehy: "It feels ridiculous that even have to say this, that in the US Senate I have to say this. But I am now passing legislation to make sure that the US government doesn't give your tax dollars, hard working Montanans tax dollars, we don't take those dollars and give them to the Taliban and to Iran and other people that want to kill us. Because guess what? That's exactly what we've been doing for year after year after year, and I'm going to put a stop to it. It's an absolute disgrace that, again, we're told we don't have enough money to protect our communities from wildfire. We don't have enough money to secure the border. Apparently, we don't have enough money- you know we're seeing everyone freak out right now, we don't have enough money for schools and Medicare and Medicaid. Well, apparently we have enough money to give billions of dollars to terrorists. Never again. No more. We're putting a stop to it."

We also talked about the rapid pace in which Republican Senators are now advancing President Trump's cabinet nominees. (Although- let's hurry up and get Kash Patel confirmed as FBI Director IMO!) Sen. Sheehy was pleased to see Pete Hegseth confirmed as Secretary of Defense.

And isn't it interesting to see now, with President Trump and SECDEF Hegseth...the US Army saw their strongest recruiting number in 15 years.

Sen. Sheehy: "It just shows that we've been getting lied to for the last four years. They've been telling us that this recruiting crisis was because of labor shortage. It was about, you know, pay. It was about- we didn't have enough eligible kids. Kids are too fat, kids are too lazy, you know, all these excuses. Every single quarter, we get excuse after excuse after excuse from Secretary Austin and the DOD about, you know, there's not enough patriotism, that there's not enough pride, there's not enough this, and the reality is- no one wanted to serve under the Joe Biden military, where DEI was above combat lethality. They didn't want to go fight in a war like you and I did in Afghanistan, and then watch Joe Biden pull us out and dishonor that sacrifice and get killed for nothing. So now they feel that America's back. They feel that, you know, they can join up and actually serve their country instead of serve DEI and, you know, all these inclusive ideologies we've had to listen to the last few years."
