Tailgate rally Thursday night. We're talking about Emily Pennington, the Billings West High cheerleader with Down Syndrome. School District 2 in Billings is trying to deny her the opportunity to attend her senior year of high school, and graduate with her friends.

What a heartless decision from the Billings School District 2 school board and superintendent. First off, they've been dragging this family along since November of last year. Now, they're telling the family that this issue will NOT be on the school board agenda.

We've heard from many employees of the school district who are furious but fear retribution from the district if outspoken.

A lockdown at Billings West High School yesterday caused concern for many parents, but was ultimately found to be a false alarm.

If you thought the teachers union in Billings was going to sit down, shut up, and wear their masks- think again.

Either way you count it, there was a big showing on the Yellowstone County Courthouse lawn of parents, teachers, and kids speaking out against the last-minute decision by School District 2 to force masks on teachers and kids.

They don't have the will of the people. That is the bottom line when it comes to a mask mandate in Billings public schools. If a parent wants to mask their kids- go for it. We won't judge you. But don't force these masks on our kids. Stop dividing our community.

They just want to have their voices to be heard and make masks optional for those students who want to wear them at Skyview, West & Senior.
