Don't get me wrong. Friday needed to happen. But still. What an enormous waste of time and resources for our legal system here in Montana.

What we saw Friday was the final whimper of the Soviet style show trial targeting Montana's popular Attorney General Austin Knudsen (R-MT), who just got re-elected by 20 points in the 2024 elections.

After AG Knudsen was finally able to make his case on Friday, Chief Justice Cory Swanson summed it up best by saying, "this thing is a mess from start to finish."

You may recall, the Democrats and their operatives appointed by the liberal Montana Supreme Court wanted to block AG Knudsen from the ballot. They wanted to strip away his law license. They wanted to remove him from office. Because of what? Because he, as a statewide elected official, dared to criticize rulings out of the liberal Montana Supreme Court.

Now, the Democrat donor leading the complaint against the AG even acknowledges that Knudsen couldn't be removed from office even if he gets reprimanded over his remarks. (Which is silly on it's face that they would even think to do that)

Here's what else is silly- think of all the resources that have been wasted on this Soviet style show trial throughout the process, and even on Friday. District Judges had to travel to Helena to take part in this hearing. We keep hearing how we need more district judges, how our courts are overworked, and how our courts are undermanned- yet, somehow they have all the time in the world for a political show trial like this (not to mention the circus that was the Held v Montana case).

In case you missed it, rockstar conservative political consultant Jake Eaton joined us on the radio Monday to break down Friday's hearing in Helena.
