Our colleague Traci Taylor had the big news for Griz fans over the weekend- Billings, Montana's own Junior Bergen was picked up by the San Francisco 49er's in the NFL draft.

And- of course- huge news for Butte, Montana and Bobcat fans: Touchdown Tommy Mellott was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders.

Whether a Bobcat or a Grizzly, Touchdown Tommy has been incredible to watch. Same with Junior Bergen.

Mellott told the Las Vegas Review Journal, "Growing up for sure in Montana, there's very few people that have an opportunity to go play collegiate sports, let alone NFL. So it's a dream come true for me. And you know, specifically with the Raiders, I can't wait to get down to Las Vegas and get after it. So it's a surreal moment for sure."

The GM for the Raiders talked about how Mellott can play a number of different positions. Mellott responded, "My entire career in college, to be honest with you, has kind of been a do it all individual as well. I came to Montana State, FCS school, and I played special teams the entire first year. I played wide receiver. I played wildcat quarterback. I really did it all. And then, you know, eventually the wild those wildcat reps, they wanted me out there so much- I became the starter, and so that's what I'm going to be about when I get down to Las Vegas, is just do it all kind of guy."

Here's his full interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mellott and Bergen aren't the only Montana players getting a shot at the NFL. As 406MTSports.com reports, "Former Montana State defensive linemen Brody Grebe and Sebastian Valdez will get chances to play in the NFL. Grebe received a rookie minicamp invite from the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, a source told 406 MT Sports. Valdez signed an undrafted free agent deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the Seattle Times." Check out more at 406MTSports.com

The University of Montana's Hayden Harris, meanwhile, is getting an opportunity with the Buffalo Bills.
