Walmart Requires Customers To Dress & Act Normal
It started simply enough. The sign read, "Shirt & Shoes Required."
Walmart asked for shirts but it never said how much of the body the shirt had to cover. They never said the shirt had to be clean.
Shirt and shoes - but no mention of "PANTS." That's when things got way out of control. It soon became so bad that a book and a website popped up named 'People Of Walmart' which showcased the beyond-weird behavior and style of dress in their stores.
This week, due to Coronavirus fears, Walmart announced that it will be requiring costumers to wear face masks.
I'm sure at that point, a silence fell across the Walmart board room.
"Why stop there?" someone asked. "I mean, they could at least put on a clean t-shirt."
Soon the other voices became loud and excited. The dam had burst.
"Underwear are not PANTS!" one CEO screamed.
"LOOK AT THIS LADY!" another yelled, "I BET SHE HASN'T CHANGED OUT OF THOSE PAJAMAS IN A MONTH!"
After the room had settled down a bit, they wisely decided to write a new sign for the front door of every store. But rather than a long list they made it as simple as can be.
"WELCOME TO WALMART - Dress like a normal person, or go shop at Dollar Tree."
Personally, I am a little sorry that Walmart is making this change. I was hoping they would install a Walmart viewing area, with snacks. Maybe a Walmart TV station where they broadcast the weirdest people from their security cameras.
Well, guess from now on I'll have to go to Dollar Tree to feel superior.
