As we get closer to Saturday's "Wings and Wheels" event at the Bert Mooney Airport, it just seems to keep growing bigger and more exciting.  It's a car show.  It's an aircraft show.  There will be skydivers recreating a historic jump out of the "Miss Montana" airplane and there will be a lot of military equipment on hand for you to check out.

The car show being brought to you this year by Butte Auto is going to be one of the area's biggest and most diverse.  They promise vehicles from the 1930s to the present and they encourage you to bring your vehicle out if you have something interesting or unique as there will be no entry fee and many prizes awarded.  Registration for the car show begins at 7am with public access at 7:30.   In addition to the classic cars and trucks you'll find, many vehicles from the airport's fleet will be on display as will a Humvee, a LMTV and a medivac helicopter from the Montana National Guard.  The Wings and Wheels Facebook page also says that RC aircraft and rockets will be displayed, too.  And if that isn't cool enough, they say that actual flight simulators will be on hand.

In addition to the car show, Wings and Wheels will be a rare opportunity for you to see what happens behind the scenes in the airport terminal as well.  Want to fly in?  Special prices on airplane fuel will be made available to pilots, but if you just want to drive in, bring your appetite because there is a pancake breakfast starting at 7:30 and food vendors will start serving at 11am.
