32 New COVID-19 Cases; Still Zero Hospitalizations in Gallatin County
The Gallatin City-County Health Department reported 32 new cases of COVID-19 locally over the July 4th weekend. None of those testing positive for the virus required hospitalization. Currently, we have no patients in Gallatin County hospitalized because of COVID-19, and since the pandemic began in March the county has seen only six hospitalizations total.
The health department has not updated its daily tests count since July 3rd, so we don't know how many tests were conducted to show the 32 new cases. As of the last count recorded on the health department's website, 7,915 people had been tested for the coronavirus in Gallatin County.
Statewide, 102,926 tests have now been conducted for COVID-19, with 1,249 testing positive. That's a positive rate of 1%. To date 23 people have died from the virus (1 in Gallatin Co) in Montana putting the death rate for those who test positive at just under 2%.
