Hey, horse lovers: have we got an evening for you that combines food, music, dancing, beverages, fun for all and a great cause.

Our buddy Jasmin with 1 Horse at a Time in Corvallis let us know that they are planning another fundraiser and awareness event, "An Evening With Drafts" on Saturday, July 17, from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. More on that in a moment.

1 Horse at a Time's mission is to save unwanted, neglected and abused draft horses from going to slaughter. They rely on your donations and sense of humanity to arrange adoptions in hopes that these wonderful animals will soon find their forever home. Each year, more than 100,000 American horses—working, racing and companion horses and even children’s ponies—are inhumanely transported long distances in cramped trailers.  Then they are slaughtered, and their meat is shipped overseas for human consumption. The majority of these horses are young, healthy animals who could have led productive lives with loving owners if they’d been given the chance.

Some of the touching and adorable 1 Horse at a Time adoption photos and stories can be found on their website. Now, back to An Evening With Drafts.

1 Horse at a Time is teaming up with The Hops in Victor for what sounds like a really fun event July 17. Meet the horses. Enjoy live music with Billy G, dancing, food, beverages, draft horse rides (so make sure all the kiddos come with you), a tack sale, silent auction and raffle.

1 Horse at a Time is located at 326 Popham Lane in Corvallis. There's plenty of parking and you don't need tickets or reservations...just a love for horses and a fun time on a Montana Saturday night!
