A local group plans to hold a rally at the Missoula County Courthouse on Wednesday as part of a nationwide protest of the 2020 Presidential election.

Missoula resident Steve Finley described the event.

“We are having a ‘Stop the Steal’ rally at the courthouse,” said Finley. “This is in support of the larger ‘Stop the Steal’ rally that's taking place in Washington, DC. So this is going to be kind of a local version of that. We want to make it clear that we will not stand for what we believe is a rigged election and certification of fraudulent electoral votes. We are demanding election integrity, not only for this election, but for future elections as well.”

Finley said the effort to overturn an election is extraordinarily challenging.

“It's an uphill battle, to say the least,” he said. “So that's why we're really banding together here. We've got different groups that are all working together, and we're united in putting pressure on our political leaders to do something about this to pass reforms to potentially save this election if that's at all possible. But it's definitely a challenge to say the least, and the odds are not great, but we're going to fight with everything we have, because we simply can't give up and let the things that have happened continue. We feel that the country could be at stake here. So essentially, we're really fighting to save the republic.”

Finley said the COVID 19 pandemic has exacerbated the growth of government power and authority.

“As patriotic Americans, we don't want to see excessive government control through restrictions, like we have with the COVID situation,” he said. “A lot of leaders have just gone mad with power and it's just nothing but restrictions and lock downs that are causing more harm than the virus itself.”

Finley said the ‘Stop the Steal’ rally will be held at the Missoula County Courthouse on Wednesday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m.
