In preparation for the Christmas season, Main Street in downtown Bozeman will be closed for a short time on Tuesday, December 1st. The closure will begin at 8 a.m. for the installation of the Christmas Spiders. The closure is expected to last 3-4 hours.

This closure occurs every year and for many locals signals the official start of the holiday season. The Christmas Spiders will adorn each intersection in downtown Bozeman throughout the Holidays. Traditionally, the spiders are lit one by one during the annual Christmas Stroll.

The Christmas Stroll will look different this year with no large celebration downtown. The spiders will be lit virtually on Saturday at 5 p.m. during a lighting ceremony that can be watched from all over on Facebook here.

Beginning on Wednesday, the Downtown Bozeman Association has reimagined the Christmas Stroll and inviting you to see many of your favorite Christmas Stroll activities like:

  • Virtual lighting of the Christmas spiders
  • The gingerbread house contest
  • Restaurant “give-back” to non-profits
  • Parade of lights window contest
  • The Annual Santa Run for Education (In-person & Virtual 5K)
  • Holiday Music
