On April 6, 2022, a Missoula Police Department Officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of East Broadway to assist federal probation officers after they had conducted a probation search of 31-year-old Dustin Henry. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold explains.

“Federal probation requested the assistance from the Missoula Police Department,” Arnold said. “Federal probation was out with a male named Dustin Henry and located drugs and drug paraphernalia. Officers assisted federal probation. During the search, a substance that tested presumptive positive for cocaine was located. This case is still under investigation.”

Court documents indicate a Ziploc bag had been found in the pocket of a pair of Henry’s pants that were lying on the couch. Used syringes, a vial with clear liquid, and two bags of unused syringes were also located during the search.

Henry agreed to speak with the officer after being advised of his Miranda rights. Henry admitted that he had used drugs earlier in the day, specifically by injecting cocaine. Henry also admitted that the white substance in the bag was cocaine. Henry explained that he had won approximately $800 at the Gray Wolf Casino and used the proceeds to purchase approximately seven grams of cocaine.

The officer seized the items found during the search and transported them back to the police station. The total product weight of the cocaine was 22.8 grams. The street value of one gram of cocaine is $100, and the officer concluded that the street value of the seized cocaine would be approximately $2,280.

Henry is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Thursday afternoon, Henry appeared in Missoula Justice Court and his bail was set at $2,000.
