Every so often, we get a chance to catch up with Montana's US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) calling in from Capitol Hill. It often happens that he is joining us on a Wednesday morning just before he heads into "Montana Coffee" on Capitol Hill.

One of these days, we need to join you for Montana Coffee-I had told him on the air a while back.

That is exactly what we are doing THIS Wednesday. Thanks to our friends at Americans for Prosperity-Montana, we will be making the trip AND bringing you coverage from Washington, DC.

I plan on chatting with each of our Congressional Delegation members- Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT), Congressman Ryan Zinke (R-MT01), and Congressman Troy Downing (R-MT02). Plus, you never know who else we may run into.

Are you a Montanan who will be at Montana Coffee this week? Or, do you have a good question or topic that you'd like us to bring up during our coverage from Capitol Hill? Shoot me an email aaron (at) montanatalks.com or message us on the Montana Talks app.

For our Montana Talks statewide radio show listeners, we will have LIVE coverage for you Wednesday morning. For our other readers, look for highlights on your favorite radio station app- including full audio later in the week.

I asked Grok what is happening this week at the White House and on Capitol Hill.
This week (October 26–November 1, 2025) in Washington, DC, is marked by the ongoing federal government shutdown, now approaching its 30th day, which is disrupting operations at both the White House and Capitol Hill.

Sounds like President Trump is on a major swing through Asia, which may include a visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. He just broked a trade deal with Malaysia and is apparently on his way to meet with the Emperor of Japan on Monday.
