Representative-elect Matt Rosendale: "You can send any mouthpiece up here that's willing to go along and push a green button for leadership. And that's not what I was sent up here to do."
Zinke noted that over 90% of the GOP caucus is behind McCarthy, including half of the Freedom Caucus members, Jim Jordan, and former President Donald Trump.
Shortly before noon Mountain Time on Tuesday, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) failed to secure 218 votes during the first round of voting to be selected as Speaker of the House. As a result, the vote will now go to another round for the first time since 1923.
