December 7th, 1941. A day which will live in infamy. Here is a list of the Montanans who were killed in the Pearl Harbor attacks, as compiled by retired US Army Lt. Colonel Ed Saunders of Billings.
Thanks to Lt. Colonel Saunders for allowing us to share this list here on our website. He tells us most of the fallen sailors were on the USS Arizona. He added, "After the attack the U.S. government convened eight total review boards / inquiries / investigations as to the causal factors of the Pearl Harbor attack. From my desk, in short, the causal factor was hubris. We did not think the Japanese could do it."
Review boards were:
Roberts Commission
Hart Inquiry
Army Pearl Harbor Board
Naval Court of Inquiry
Clausen Investigation
Hewitt Investigation
Clark Investigation
Joint Congressional Committee Investigation
