Rodeo fans know the names - Clayton Biglow, Kaycee Feild, Tim O'Connell, Will Lowe. Those buckin' horse bareback riders and more will be on NFR nationally-ranked horses at Darby's 2nd annual Riggin' Rally June 5th and 6th at the Richard Cromwell Memorial Rodeo Grounds on the north end of Darby, Montana.

Former champion bull rider Bobby Steiner and Darby's Cal Ruark put together last year's event and it was so successful, they are happy to have another weekend of rodeo this year. Tickets are already close to being sold out for the Sunday main event, Ruark said.

Saturday, the qualifying rounds will happen, with tickets available at the gates. It opens at 1 p.m. and the qualifying starts at 3 p.m., where six winners will be added to the lineup scheduled for Sunday's Main Event. The Sunday session will not have any tickets sold at the gate. Instead, you need to buy them at the Darby Rodeo Facebook website, or at Murdochs in Hamilton and Darby Wine and Spirits. The Sunday rodeo starts with "Meet and Greet" the contestants at 2 p.m., a Calcutta at 3 p.m. and the buckin' starts at 6 p.m.

Included in the evening will be a live auction for a commemorative belt buckle (photo above). By the way, the Cowboy Channel TV service will broadcasting the Sunday evening rodeo live. A beer garden at Darby will have the broadcast on a big screen, and you need to buy tickets for beer garden, too. The evening wraps up with a concert from Tommy Steiner. It seems like the whole Steiner family is involved with this big weekend in the Bitterroot.
