"I learned from bitter experience that the world has but little sympathy with the man who feeds it. He must sell his products at the price fixed by those who buy, and for all he buys he must pay the price fixed by those who sell."
That was a quote that stood out to me late last week as I was reading the incredible autobiography of Fred Whiteside, the former State Senator from the Flathead Valley of Montana. He was the famed lawmaker around the turn of the 1900s who fought corruption in the Montana capitol.

Montana's current US Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) certainly understands the concerns of cattle ranchers in Montana, and took those concerns straight to President Donald Trump.

In case you missed it, Burgess Everett with Politico reported, per a person familiar with the discussions, that Sheehy had a meeting with the president and "beef state senators like Senator MarkWayne Mullin (R-OK) and Senator Cindy Hyde Smith (R-MS).

That led to President Trump issuing this statement on Truth Social:

I have asked the DOJ to immediately begin an investigation into the Meat Packing Companies who are driving up the price of Beef through Illicit Collusion, Price Fixing, and Price Manipulation. We will always protect our American Ranchers, and they are being blamed for what is being done by Majority Foreign Owned Meat Packers, who artificially inflate prices, and jeopardize the security of our Nation’s food supply. Action must be taken immediately to protect Consumers, combat Illegal Monopolies, and ensure these Corporations are not criminally profiting at the expense of the American People. I am asking the DOJ to act expeditiously. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Here's some of the reactions I got on social media when I shared the news:

Laurie Stovall KvammeFinally and a great opportunity to investigate fully. Not just a token gesture but a real investigation. When will we learn foreign owned companies do not have the American economy or consumer interests…especially China. Thank you Senators, Hyde-Smith, Mullin and our very own Sheehy!

Anne MarieFinally!! Listen to grassroots Cattle groups vs cartel packers (infiltrated by elite globalists btw)
