Gov. Gianforte: "GREAT NEWS – we’ve finalized a Cooperative Interstate Shipment agreement with U.S. Department of Agriculture, making Montana only the tenth state in the nation where meat processors can ship products throughout the United States. #AgWeek"
I was chatting with Evelyn Pyburn from the Big Sky Business Journal, and she told me how economic development officials in Butte are now pressing for a meat processing facility in Whitehall. Sounds like a great idea if you ask me.
Elementary-age school children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County got to experience some hands-on learning fun today (7/12) at Billings Depot. The event was the first of three "Built from Beef" events happening this summer. From practicing steer roping to learning about cattle brands and seasonings, the kids seemed to be loving the experience.
For the love of Ag. Here's a couple good news stories for you here this week. First, several Billings area students were recently recognized with some good-sized scholarships, thanks to their love for Montana's number one industry- agriculture. Second, National Beef Month is right around the corner. (I thought every month was beef month? I grill steaks even when it is 20 below zero.)
