Vice President Vance Lands in Butte, Motorcade to Dillon
Vice President JD Vance must have heard about our Visit Montana promotion on the radio this week. For 7 weeks straight we are highlighting Montana trivia as we promote each of Montana's 7 tourism regions- and this week is Southwest Montana!
Sounds like VP Vance decided to visit Southwest Montana this week. We speculated on the radio earlier this morning that VP Vance was going to be visiting Butte and Dillon. This, after the Montana Standard's Mike Smith reported on FAA airspace closures in the area.
Here's what NBC Montana put out via X Tuesday afternoon:
Air Force 2 landed at Butte’s Bert Mooney Airport on Tuesday afternoon, with Vice President JD Vance aboard. A source confirms that Vance then got in a motorcade enroute to the Dillon area. https://bit.ly/4dSEwj2
Video from NBC Montana is included below.
(By the way- a little trivia...Beaverhead County, which is where Dillon is located, is apparently Montana's largest county)
Speaking of Butte and politics...Rob O'Neill- the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden talked about Butte politics Tuesday on X. He said, "I grew up in a mining town. Unions were good. It’s so frustrating to go home to Butte, MT and see how blind they are to the demons that have hijacked the democrat party. Pure evil."
Although it is interesting, President Trump did better in Butte ( a Democrat stronghold) than any Republican presidential candidate since Eisenhower.
