Was this just normal clean up the drug needles and human feces on the banks of the river in Missoula...or was this special for Bernie & AOC's fake accent? A Missoula city council member calls it a "strange coincidence."

Sam Redfern shared the news on X that a cleanup was finally taking place on the riverbanks in Missoula, and then he raised a good question: did the finally decide to clean up the river because Senator Bernie Sanders and AOC- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)- are rallying in Missoula today (Wednesday)?

Redfern then reminded folks of how San Francisco had the same problems Missoula does, but California Gov. Gavin Newsom didn't clean up the streets until Dear Leader, Communist Chinese Leader Xi Jinping, came to visit San Francisco.

I threw the question to Missoula City Council Member Sandra Vasecka. Here's what she told us Wednesday morning.

Vasecka: "Glad it was done. It is a strange coincidence. I'm unsure if it was because of the event today but the optics sure make it seem like it."
As for the rally in Missoula with Bernie and AOC: "I do know that our regular Wednesday Council committee meetings were scheduled around the absence of many of my colleagues today because they will be absent and attending the event. I will not be."

Montana Sentinel Editor Darin Gaub also highlighted the Gavin Newsom tactic. "Clean it up for an event, let it go to trash immediately after."
By the way, remember the story from just about one year ago? A heroic Missoula man cleaned up the trash, drug needles, and more from the river bank and then the city went after him.
