The world needed to hear a message of strength from an American leader. The world did not get that tonight.

President Joe Biden spent the first few minutes of his first State of the Union address stumbling through his message about Ukraine and the Russian invasion- at one point mistakenly referring to "the Iranian people."

He then immediately pivoted to a divisive domestic agenda, lecturing American businesses about how to fix the economy, pushing gun control, and more. While he mentioned veterans, he failed to give any recognition for the 13 troops who were killed during his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

I've been alive for Presidents Reagan, Bush, Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden. That was sad. Had to be the worst State of the Union address I've ever seen.

For what it's worth, and I'm just one Montanan here, but this is my immediate reaction during the State of the Union tonight. My first tweet? "Reading are hard. #SOTU"

Did Biden really say, Putin will "never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people." Yep...here's the video.

David Knobel, who can be heard on the statewide radio talk show "Montana Talks with Aaron Flint" cued up tonight's address with this question:

The answer to David's question is clearly no. Biden hammered down with division and a Left wing agenda.

Even one of the partisan Democrats on the Montana Politics hashtag from Missoula responded to the address by Biden tonight by saying we need to "give him a break."

Here's one of the funnier moments of the night.
