With tournament season here and festival season quickly closing in on us, Butte is again expected to draw a large number of visitors before summer comes to a close.  Of course, you're going to find an abundance of hotels, motels and inns, but if you're looking for a really unique and maybe even historical place to hang your hat while you're here, we offer three wonderful suggestions.

Once the proud Butte home of Copper King William A. Clark, one of the richest men in the world at the time, the Copper King Mansion offers several different options as a bed and breakfast.  There is Clark's Master Bedroom Suite which features sycamore woodwork as well as a hand carved fireplace, the elegantly-furnished Hugette's Room named in honor of Clark's youngest daughter, and even the Family Suite which sleeps up to 4.  Whichever room you choose, you will be surrounded by living history calling to mine Butte's mining heyday and some of the extravagance it afforded to some.

The first iteration of the Hodgkins Ryan Mansion was built in 1899 by bank magnate Thomas Hodgkins and was expanded in 1905 by John Ryan, President of the Montana Power Company.  In the early 2000s, the property, which lies just north of Park Street on Excelsior, was purchased by Peggy Guicionne and her family who renovated it into a vibrant bed and breakfast.  Accommodations are available for short or long term and are available for reasonable rates.
