On the morning of Thursday, October 12th, shortly after 8:00 am, a collaborative effort between the Great Falls Police Department and the Russel Country Drug Task Force (RCDTF) was initiated to execute a series of arrest warrants. By 3:45 pm on the same day, a total of ten individuals had been apprehended in connection with outstanding warrants.

These arrest warrants are a direct outcome of an extensive investigation into narcotics trafficking, the result of a cooperative endeavor involving various agencies within the RCDTF. Additionally, the operation saw active participation from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the United States Marshals Service. The case falls under the jurisdiction of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Montana.

On a daily basis, the RCDTF is committed to thwarting the illicit drug trade in Great Falls and its neighboring communities. Their investigations often encompass expansive territories, extending across Montana and into other states. Collaborating frequently with other task forces under the Rocky Mountain High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA), the RCDTF seeks to intensify its efforts in curbing the distribution of illegal narcotics, as these cases frequently transcend jurisdictional boundaries.

The Russel Country Drug Task Force (RCDTF) operates as a vital component of the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA). Staffed and directed by the Great Falls Police Department, the RCDTF comprises members from the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, the Montana Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, as well as several U.S. federal agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Furthermore, the RCDTF receives direct support from the Montana Army National Guard Counter Drug Program and legal assistance from the Cascade County Attorney's Office and the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Montana.
